Did you know you can apply for a Goverment Grant to help your home be more energy efficient?! At Homeguard Roofing we're always looking for ways to help our customers and that's why we stay up to date on the latest grants and more our customers can take advantage of. There are two grants we will be talking about in this blog one is a Federal grant and the other is a Provincial grant.
The first grant is the Federal grant called the "Canada Greener Homes Grant" provided by the Government of Canada. This grant will help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient, create new jobs across Canada for energy advisors, grow our domestic green supply chains, and fight climate change. They give up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy-efficient home retrofits, such as better insulation etc. Are you wondering if you qualify for this grant? Homeowners across Canada with a property in Canada can register to participate in the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Homeowners will be required to provide documentation demonstrating that the property is their primary residence.
Ready to apply? Homeowners must register directly through the Canada Greener Homes Grant website. If you do not have internet access or require assistance registering for the grants, contact the Canada Greener Homes Grant directly: The call centre can be reached at 1-833-674-8282. There are no deadlines to apply.
The provincial grant is called "Clean BC" provided by the Government of Canada. British Columbia and Vancouver homeowners can now use CleanBC Better Homes to get up to $14,000 in rebates for energy renovations. The Home Energy Improvement Bonus is a rebate of up to $2000 for installing three or more eligible energy upgrades. Are you wondering if you can qualify for this grant? B.C. citizens who live in an eligible home and have residential utility accounts with BC Hydro, FortisBC, or Municipal utilities can apply for this Clean BC grant. Please note application must be submitted within 6 months of the invoice date for the deadline.
To qualify for this bonus rebate, homeowners must get pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide home energy evaluations from a certified energy advisor. The Home Energy Improvement bonus details.
